After a quick breakfast before leaving the Villa il Colle, we headed out to visit Cortona, then on down to Anna's aunt and uncle's house in the evening. We hit a massive 10 mile traffic stoppage on the autostrada, told the TomTom to avoid freeways, got off the next exit and saved hours of lost time in getting to Cortona, the town featured in Under the Tuscan Sun.
We had lunch there, then visited the Eustruscan collection in town, a very fascinating collection.
After that a four hour drive (should have been less, but there is much construction on the highways, and the average speed was considerably less than it should be) we arrived at our home for the next few days around 9 pm
