Our trip to China, August 2004

Pictures can't do a trip like this justice, but we can try.  There were three driving reasons to make this trip, first was it was our 10th anniversary and we wanted to do something different.  Our passports only have one blank page left, so there were not many places we could go to that were new and different.

Second was the price, which couldn't be touched.  We probably spent less for the airfare, hotels and included meals then we could have gotten just airfare on our own, the numbers were that good.

Third, was the sights.  We have always been fascinated with the terra cotta warriors for example, and the Yangtze river is already dammed up and being turned into the largest lake in the world,  It was a case of go in the next few years, or it's gone forever.

I would highly recommend this trip to anybody, it's about as exotic as you can get, yet still civilized.

The trip is divided into five sections

Section 1 The first few days visiting Beijing
Section 2 The cruise down the Yangtze River
Section 3 Visiting Chonqing
Section 4 Visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors of Xi'an
Section 5 Shanghai
