Friday was spent with a visit to Pompeii in the morning and afternoon, then out to dinner in the evening.
Pompeii was about a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from where we were staying, it's the site is literally right off the highway. It couldn't be any easier to get to.
It was also part of the free museum week we ran into in Florence, which saves you like $30 or so in getting in, but there were areas where it was crowded.
For dinner, we drove through some of the nearby waterfront towns and picked an excellent seafood restaurant on the water.
